COLORADO SPRINGS, CO – U.S. Figure Skating has partnered with Revolution Jewelry Works to be the exclusive manufacturer of the elite Radix pin, awarded to U.S. medalists at the U.S. Championships, World Championships and Olympic Winter Games, including the upcoming Games in 2026 in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy.
The Radix pin, named for Harry Radix, the former president of the Chicago Figure Skating Club, began the tradition of giving Radix pins to medalists in the 1940s. The pins have traditionally been fabricated in the shape of a figure skate with a diamond embedded in the toe. Radix believed that a winner should receive a memento of figure skating accomplishments and presented the first skate pins to the place winners of the major championships in figure skating. Before his death, he established a trust fund in his will for continued fabrication and awarding of Radix Skate Pins. These iconic pieces are highly prized, sentimental mementos for figure skaters. Over the years, the Radix pins have mirrored historic figure skate designs, however the trust which funded them was exhausted nearly a decade ago.
To restore the goodwill nature of the pins, Revolution Jewelry Works has assumed financial responsibility for the creation of the Radix pin design and developed a standing partnership with US Figure Skating to assure these awards remain a part of the sport for many years to come. As a new U.S. Figure Skating Supplier, Revolution Jewelry Works has created the first pins designed in the image of a modern-day figure skate. Adding to the design changes, for the first time in history the skates will be colored to match the placements of the competitors – yellow for first, white for second, rose for third, and grey for fourth; representing Gold, Silver, Bronze, and Pewter.
“Each pin serves as a testament to the hard work and dedication of each member of the U.S. Figure Skating team,” says Jennifer Farnes, Owner and Master Faceter at Revolution Jewelry Works, “and our team will mirror that commitment as we craft each pin.”
The new pin design was first showcased in the 2024-2025 Figure Skating Season, with the new colors and additional awards for Mens, Womens, Pairs, Ice Dance, and Team Skating debuting for the 2025-2026 season.
